brand identity
Brands are constantly looking to find an edge against their competitors. One way to tackle this is by connecting with their customers on an emotional level and creating a life long relationship. A strong brand identity becomes the glue that holds a brand together. I chose to tackle David’s Tea. This project was split into three steps.
1. logo
I researched David’s Tea and found a few key elements I wanted to emphasize in their brand. They wanted to show that tea is fun and modern, fun and accessible, not stuffy and pretentious.
I wanted to create an icon that reflected their fun and modern tone while complimenting their existing logo. Taking the “D”, “s”, and “T” from their name, I constructed a tea cup and saucer.
While doing research, I found that most tea comes from a single plant: the camellia sinensis. I thought it would be perfect to create a floral pattern of this magical plant as a supplemental design element.
2. collateral
Create branded swag!
3. brand book
Define the company. Nail down the logo, typeface, and color palette. Pull together the collateral and make a cohesive brand guideline.
